Due
to the time sensitive nature of our business, it is important that we receive
accurate and complete data to manufacture your printed circuit board designs.
With this in mind, we would like to offer the following list of items that we
need to ensure the timely and correct manufacture of your PCBs.
Note: Most of our equipment will accept different formats or types of data, and what follows represents the optimum package for us. If you have any questions regarding the compatibility of your data, please contact us at 972-259-3699.

In-house laser
photoplotting is done on a Gerber Cresent 30 photoplotter. We need to receive,
either by modem or on disk, Gerber files. We prefer these formatted as 274-X,
(this allows for automatic reading of imbedded aperture lists) and in Absolute
and English. If you use a format other than 274-X, we need a text file of the
required aperture lists defining the following: D-Code number, aperture type
(square, round, etc.), X dimensions, Y dimensions and custom aperture
definitions. Aperture files should be in straight columns.
We also need a readable text file giving us a customer contact (day and
nighttime phone numbers on quick-turn jobs), Gerber file names with definitions,
and any other special requirements pertaining to the job.
If films are supplied by the customer, E-mailed or FTP to be photoplotted here, we would like to see the following:
1. Drill Template with different symbols for each hole size and a legend giving us plating requirements, tolerance, and count for each size. (This can be included on the fabrication drawing, but a film makes a much better quality control tool). Individual films of each silk-screen, soldermask and all necessary layers.
2. If possible, when the customer supplies films we would like to see positive images of the silk-screen, soldermask and outer layers, and negative images of internal layers.
3. Each film should include the following:
· Title block showing the customer part number, revision and film designation. (i.e. Top Silk-Screen, Top Soldermask, Layer 1/4 (Layer 1 of 4), Bottom Soldermask, etc.)
· Orientation/Alignment markings. (Targets placed just outside the board borders work well for this.)
We need complete fabrication drawing containing at a minimum the following information:
1. A revision history block showing the level of the artwork, print and finished board if different, and the revision history.
2. A dimensioned and toleranced profile of the board and panelization requirements if the parts are to be panelized. This should include dimensioned tooling holes where possible, and a zero location that corresponds to the zero used for drill data and filmwork. (We prefer to use the lower left hand corner of the board).
3. A detail drawing showing the layer stack-up, required dielectric thickness and tolerances, and the starting or clad copper weights.
4. Detail drawings defining any special requirements such as: scoring, countersinks, counterbores, slots, milling, etc.
5. Notes specifying the following:
· Fabrication Specification;
· Material type and specification;
· Vendor marking requirements;
· Soldermask and finish requirements;
· Silk-screen color;
· Electrical Test requirements;
· Nickel and Gold Plating parameters (if required);
· Minimum line width and spacing, and the surface mount pitch when applicable.
· Any special requirements/concerns.
6. A title block containing company's name, part number, revision level, design date and engineer's name.
Note: These
drawings can be sent via modem, as Gerber, ODB++, or HPGL files, allowing us to plot
them out either as film or on paper. When a customer has in-house fabrication
specifications, we will need a copy with your first order.
A purchase order (written or faxed) specifying the following:
· Part Number/Name
· Revision Level
· P.O. Number
· Ship to Address
· Bill to Address
· Tax Exempt Status (include tax # if non-taxable)
· Delivery Schedule
· Shipping Requirements
· Purchase Order
· Fabrication Drawing
· Gerber Files With Aperture Lists or Films
· NC Drill Files
· Job Requirements (i.e. quantity, delivery, etc.)
· Contacts - Purchasing and Engineering
